This is a descriptive research aiming to examine the psychological resilience level of nurses during COVID-19 pandemic and determine the factors contributing to their psychological resilience. The research was carried out with 230 nurses who meet the criteria for this study at Rize Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Training and Research Hospital in March-April 2021. Data was collected through face to face meetings by using "Nurse Data Collection Form" and "The Brief Resilience Scale (BRS)". NCSS (Number Cruncher Statistical System) program was used for the statistical analysis of the data, and p<0.05 was acknowledged as the statistical expressiveness. The mean score for the nurses in BRS has been determined to be 19.38±4.56, and their psychological resilience has been found to be average. The mean BRS score for the nurses above the age of 27 as well as the ones with 10 or more years of work experience has been determined to be higher than the other nurses. Nurses who had a healthy diet, spared time for their hobbies, had access to reliable news sources and received sufficient psychological support from their family, work and social environment during COVID-19 pandemic had a higher mean BRS score compared to other nurses. To sum up, factors such as age, years of experience, diet, support from the social environment and time for hobbies have been discovered to affect the psychological resilience of nurses.
